No matter where you elect to have your reception, it’s essential to include these elements.


Food & Drink

When it comes to the typical wedding, folks generally provide food and drink to some extent. An elegant dinner nourishes your guests for a full night of dancing. If you can afford it, an open bar or complimentary beer and wine is a nice gesture. For a wedding on a budget, stick to hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Don’t forget about your kid guests and non-alcoholic drinks and offer a table of your signature drink sans alcohol along with water available to all.



Don’t settle for a band OR a DJ when you can have both. How about a band during cocktail hour with light tunes during the meal followed by the DJ during the dance session. Prepare a list of must-hear songs so the DJ’s playlist is ready beforehand. As a side note, ensure your musical talent is dressed accordingly to your reception theme. No, not necessarily to the colors, but along the formal and casual lines as the rest of the day.
