Read up on the first 4 tips for a perfect wedding reception here. Searching through wedding reception venues can be daunting, so we here at Royal Palace ballrooms are happy to help make the celebration checklist quick and easy. No matter where you elect to have your reception, it’s essential to include these elements.

Food & Drink

When it comes to the typical wedding, folks generally provide food and drink to some extent. An elegant dinner nourishes your guests for a full night of dancing. If you can afford it, an open bar or complimentary beer and wine is a nice gesture. For a wedding on a budget, stick to hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Don’t forget about your kid guests and non-alcoholic drinks and offer a table of your signature drink sans alcohol along with water available to all.

Music

Don’t settle for a band OR a DJ when you can have both. How about a band during cocktail hour with light tunes during the meal followed by the DJ during the dance session. Prepare a list of must-hear songs so the DJ’s playlist is ready beforehand. As a side note, ensure your musical talent is dressed accordingly to your reception theme. No, not necessarily to the colors, but along the formal and casual lines as the rest of the day.

Wrap It Up

The grand farewell! Whether it’s a tunnel of sparklers or an air full of bubbles, have your bridal and grooms parties gather the guests with the appropriate props for your sendoff. Prior to the grand day, clarify with the different services whether tip is included in the final bill. If you must tip the night of your ceremony, prepare envelopes for catering, reception staff, cleaning crew and transportation services. This way you can show your appreciation quickly without taking away from the grandiose events!

P.S. Don’t be afraid to ask for help! This is a large event that, when planned well, is so much fun!
